PowerCharge Launches Residential EV Charging Stations
July 16, 2018
Last week, we had a little excitement around here in Rush, New York. Our first load of the new “Energy Series” EV charging stations, for residential (and home) use arrived in our warehouse. The product is now available for purchase by supply houses, distributors, electrical contractors and consumers. PowerCharge previously released the “Pro Series” line of commercial charging stations in the Spring of 2017
In a recent press release, Mike Moser, the President of PowerCharge stated “We continue to identify the needs of our customers, so we have introduced a slim yet powerful charger designed for residential use. The unit has a simple plug-in installation and can easily be mounted on a garage wall or hard wired on a pedestal near a parking space. Most chargers in the EV (electric vehicle) space can be fairly large and require a designated area to be installed. With the ‘Energy’ Series, the product is smaller than an 8.5”x 11” sheet of paper, has a simple plug-in installation (for indoor use) and is outdoor rated, so it can be installed almost anywhere.”
The Energy Series includes two residential models (there are three chargers in the Energy line). The ‘Energy’ model is a simple charge station, while the ‘Connect’ model links to the PowerCharge smartphone app using the home’s WiFi. In addition to all of the features of the “Energy” model, the ‘Connect’ features charge status reporting, remote on/off switch, scheduled charging, and power consumption reporting.
Listening to the needs of electric vehicle drivers, PowerCharge developed a powerful primary feature set for the Energy Series. All models:
- Are up to six times faster than the standard 110-volt plug
- Deliver up to twenty miles of driving range for every hour of charge time
- Are UL/cUL-listed meeting safety criteria for use throughout North America.
- Include adjustable output (3.8kW, 5.8kW and 7.8kW) to set the ideal power level to be matched with the owner’s supply panel, electric vehicle and to the driver’s needs.
- Includes a standard 25-foot cable, the longest allowed while meeting UL safety standards.
Since the electric vehicle market with continue to grow, a goal of PowerCharge is to design cutting-edge equipment which fits the lifestyle of the driver, which will help fuel electric vehicle acceptance throughout the country.
PowerCharge is dedicated to providing the best Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) to the U.S. and Canadian markets, continuously focused on introducing advanced products and superior customer service.
